I-75 / I-595 Interchange

Precast segmental superstructure on cast-in-place substructure and concrete piles. PCL Civil Constructors, Inc. was a joint venture partner on the I-595 Expressway Package U project. Included in this project were nine precast concrete segmental bridges and three girder/composite deck bridges. Full section 10-foot segments, 1,366 in all, were cast at an on-site casting yard and then erected in balanced cantilever fashion. The joint venture received a $600,000 bonus incentive for early milestone completion of portions of the project. This was the highest incentive award ever offered by the Florida Department of Transportation.
